There is a sticker saying "made in britain" on the top of front windscreen on the driver's side on my cts, are all parts and components made in britain or are they made in japan and assembled in britain? (Want to get to the bottom of this as my work colleague is adament that my toyota is assembled and not made in britain even though has has seen sticker! )

it is made in britain - the engines are made at deeside in north wales. my previos corolla was jap built and the quality of parts seemed alot better - ie clutch and brake pads and the car seemed better put together and not have all the annoying niggles. on the other hand parts are alot cheaper now but you have too replace parts more often.

I was under the impression that the cts was in fact assembled in japan and shipped in, and standard Corollas were asembled at a plant in derby???

Is 2zz ge engine(our one) made in wales or do they come in a box from some where else? Just that yamaha written on side of it. Do they manufacture them or just design them and let toyota take care of the rest?

hi im from derby and my mate works at toyota plant in paint section, all e12 corollas were made there as the avensis is also, engine do come from deeside in wales they just put the spec of of car as required on production line. thats why t sports were seen more in derby cause they were on a lease scheme for the workers, so after most of them were written of toyota pulled them from rent.
