Hi Everyone:

I am looking forward to this forum. We just bought a new 2008 Camry LE. It says it comes with anti-theft (ignition kill). But it does not come with a car alarm. I want to buy the Viper 350 HV. But my hubby thinks why bother?

Any ideas?

Hi and welcome and regards to America!!!!!

As to fitting an Alarm I have no idea....peace of mind mebbe, Cuts down insurance costs? flashing lights act as a deterant??? or just stick leds in.

In my expeience alarms dont do a thing......car still gets broken into!

Thanks for the response. I agree that car alarms do little to stop someone bent on breaking in. I guess peace of mind is what I am thinking. The anti-theft device which come factory just appears as a blinking lite which looks like the "door open" sign. That is not a good signal to me.

:D

I dont think alarms are pointless.... granted if someone wants in your car they're going to get in but if an alarm deters one break in attempt its saved a fair bit of messing about and potential cost(excess on insurance). It may also prove useful if its got vibration triggers, as it might deter anyone who tampers/messes with it. I'd get one....
