3s-fe Fast Idle Speed Problem

Hi, I've got a prob with the idle speed on my Carina E 2.0 (3s-fe) - after a water pump change the idle speed when hot would occasionally drift from about 750 to 1300 for a couple of seconds then back. Today I cleaned the throttle butterfly + inlet, checked the vacuum hoses, inlet pipework, iscv, throttle cable etc all seemed fine. Took it out for a couple of runs but it now idles around 1800-2000 when warm!

I think the prob might be the throttle position sensor is knackered or needs adjusting (pushing the throttle closed slows the idle speed) but would be really grateful to hear about anyone who has sorted similar problems or any suggestions.
