Help! Front Windshield Washer Access

Sorry to just rush in here without an intro and I hope I am posting this properly.

We have recently bought a 1990 Master Touring Ace and the front windshield washers are not working. There is a leak and we are not sure if the line is broken or disconnected but are desparate to find access to it. My husband thinks access must be from the outside front but the little success I have had in searching this question seems to say we have to take the dash out. He has taken a lot of it out and still we can't get to the line. I have searched Ace answers and throughout here but can't find any info. We are 3 days away from a 3 months, several thousand kilometres trip and doubtless are going to need water on that front windshield. (and yes, I am prepared to just be a 'manual' windshield washer with a spray bottle if it comes to that) If there are any diagrams this could help immensely.
