Query Bout Ae92

Wat normal tick over {rpm} on anone elses ae92 (91) when engine cold,mine tickin over at 2100-2200 rpmwhen cold den returns to normal when engine up to temp,is this normal,plus having a few leccy difficultie,rear windsreen wiper wont stop,{jus disconnected it} any idea, do i need new motor or is it relay r wat,alll answers appreciated,thanks

My ae111 jumps up to 2k when cold and back dosn when hot, i think its just what they do.

Mayeb a relay, really doubt you need a new motor

Perfectly normal!

I realise you were probably worried about whether the high tickover was a concern when cold, but no harm done - mines done it for the past 14 years :)

Rear wiper motor ...not much of an idea here but have you checked the wires at the top of the tailgate as it comes out of the roof (in a rubber tube/gromet) and see if an have frayed and thus shorted out.

Yeah mine does that as well I think it’s some sort of vacuum sensor that controls it but it’s nothing to worry about.

my 87 rolla ae92 sits at 2500 when cold but when warm it drops down to 800 so 2100-2200 is ok

Thats perfectly normal mate!! its your automatic choke unit, as the car warms up the revs shud drop as you say so no problem there.

As for the rear wiper motor never had any probs with mine!!

i had a problem with mine on my first corolla but that was because it came off the motor and wouldnt move. i could hear the motor running but no movement from the wiper. not sure what is wrong with yours

About 2000rpm or so, for a 4A-GE engine is normal when cold. Drops to about 800-900 when warm.

The rear wiper problem could be a number of things... switch, relay etc. A process of elimination required....
