Newbie After Advice!

Hi

Well new on here as the time is approaching for a change of car and I'd quite like a Yaris. Is there anywhere on here that lists model variances? Performance/mpg/spec etc? I'm coming from a 2ltr Rover 400 (with a potentially blown head gasket!! ) so I'd like something a bit more economical but still quite nippy, and a few creature comforts, a/c, electric windows/mirrors etc, not asking much I know lol!!! Probably looking at a Mk1 (are there only two versions??).

Any advice/help gratefully received, I really know nothing about these cars!!

Hello there, I have recently bought a yaris as well and I love it to bits. Excellent car and well recommended.

There is a Mark 1 yaris but there was a face lifted version known as phase 2, has a slightly different interior and tear drop lights and a few other exterior differences, then there is the Mark 2 which is the newest shape of a yaris.

Engine sizes vary from 1.0, 1.3, 1.5 and I think 1.8.

Not sure on Performance, mpg or specs.

My Phase 2 Blue (blue being a spec) has a/c and electric windows, c/l, p/s, abs and some nice trim pieces inside.

fore the Mk1 Yaris:

1.0 /1.3ltr - S/GS = basic models still with good spec.

1.3 SR = sporty model with alloy wheels/spoiler and nearly all accessories

1.3 CDX = luxury model with all accessories with bonus of sunroof and height adjustable seat

1.4 D4D = diesel model with most accessories

1.5 Tsport = top of the range sport model with every accessory and upgraded seats/interior etc etc....

As a luxury model you would have thought it would have had remote radio control stalk, interior light dimmer, intermitent rear wash, timed rear screen heater etc.

Some of those were brought in, in the phase 2 yaris. Remember the phase 1 was on the road 1st in 1999 so was made well before that.

But why didn't they put a basic item like boot light on the p1? every car I've owned has had one fitted, except the old Mini.
