Headlights Rubbish

I have D4D and headlights have been deteriorating

Taken it to main dealer who advised that this is a known problem - something to do with material used in manufacture warping.

Toyota have extended the warranty to 100k miles or 5 years

I am under 5 years but have been a nice guy and only just taken this into the dealer, unfortunately I am over the 100k

Toyota will not cover the replacement, so now going to be stung big style £££

I was a very pleased Toyota owner up to now, so much so I was looking for a new Verso for my wife this year.

Not the case any more

If anyone has an Avensis make sure you keep an eye on the headlights and get them changed asap.....don;t be stung like I have !!

good advice and would suggest others do that

unfortunately mine was in the dealer and stripped already

cost = £284 Parts + £162 labour + VAT

dealer has noted on invoice "Headlamp backs both melted" so confirms the issue in question

esco1 Write to Toyota UK and explain what happened. I know someone who did get their monies reimbursed and it was similar circumstances to yours. It is worth a try.

I do not think that you should pay for something that is of bad design. What has high mileage got to do with it????
