Failed Mot

I have a Toyota estima emina which has just failed an mot.

"(rear auxillary shaft joint split) power steering pump drive system defective"

is the steering defective because the shaft joint is split?

where can i purchase a shaft joint?

any other info i need to know?

is it just the gaiter split as this is a failiure?...glyn

This is the quote from the failure certifcate:

Do you know much about these? are they expensive ? difficult to replace myself?

the gaiter aint very easy for diy m8e,I can't see why its down as power steering system if its the rear shaft I'd say without looking up in work about 3 hr job...glyn
