Problem With Traction Control?

I am curious what this beeping is? Never heard it in my facelift CTS. However, I experienced TC yesterday whilst going round a roundabout. Wasn't going fast about 40mph, and the TC came on! Felt the brakes and power being applied. I suppose the ground was damp though! Also had some new pirelli's, much girppy than the bridgestones.

Iv never heard the beep in my car but if you go on to you tube and type in corolla monza there a vid of a fella givin his car a rite good thrashing round the track. You can hear the beeping as he pull out of the slower corners. Good vid as well, not the usual crap from a camera phone. Hes giving a 911 a run for his money, good enough pilot !

Hiya all

t/c is there to detect when the wheels are spinning eg hard off the line will do it wet or dry and this steps in and limits the power to the wheels which in turn lets you pull away with some tires left the "car with skid marks will flash no beep".

vsc or esp which it also know as stands for vehicle stability control or electronic stabilty programme, this bit of kit also gets the light flashing if driving it hard in bends or roundabouts what this does is to keep the car from sliding it will flash when you are close to sliding but not interfere with the car untill you step the line and start to slide then this will beep and flash and control power and braking to keep the car from spinning out of control.

some people think this is traction contol its not and this is still active when the t/c is turned off so you can spin ya wheels all day but start to slide it will still step in.

hope i got everything right there lol and hope this helps ya understand it a bit better

so the moral of the story is drive it hard and ya know when that is when she beeps at ya hehe

Yep, it's the driveshafts banging around while the wheels are scrabbling for grip.

If it happens try launching more gently :lol:
