my car went for a service about 2 weeks ago and ive come 2 undo the wheel nuts and after a great struggle i managed 2 undo all of them except until i got 2 the locking nut and as i wrenched it nearly lifting the car off the ground twang my locking nut key snapped so i now cannot get my wheels off until friday wen i get a new key which cost me £10.50 (toyota r paying) which is the day of my driving test and i wanted it lowered for then so i have a lower rear than front for now,

arent garages supposed 2 use a special wrench 2 tighten wheels so they r not over tightened?

i have never faulted my dealer until now and this takes the p :censor: ss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are supposed to use a torque wrench set at the right torque to do the nuts although most garages will use an impact wrench cos its quick an easy but cranks the nuts far too tight

luck of the draw im afraid

Hi knightrider

You should always get the service manager to take a look at your wheels before the car goes in as well. Get them to inspect the wheels before. And make them write down that the wheels are ok. As toyota have got the knack of damaging your alloy wheels when your car goes into service. I have heard of a few cases that someone has taken there car in for a service and they have really made pig's ears out of the wheels :o Lucky toyota have agreed to replace the alloy

Same thing happened with me, in the fact that they had the wheels off to change my tires, and scratched my alloys - there's nothing more annoying than scratching an alloy, but when someone else does it, it's even worse!!

I did the same as you Jerry and made them replace it, which they did for me without any questions.

Cheers
