What would be the ideal rpm @55mph on gear 4 ( Direct - ratio 1.0 ) for a 1.8 L gasoline engine?

I am getting 3000 rpm @55mph on gear 4.

I own a Toyota avensis 1.8 gs saloon V reg car.

mine car's clock is graduated in km/h and in case (1 mph=1 kmh x 1.6) -- it means you have taken measurement readings at 88 kmh.

today i will check with mine car's clock and type you.

as promissed i have noticed the following:

- 4th gear ----- engine RPM -3000 ----at 88 km/h speed;

- 5th gear ----- ditto ---------2400 ---- at 88 km/h speed

now all is correct just re-calculate to convert in miles.
