New Wheels For My New Car?

hello everyone, new to the forum and just purchased a 51 plate t sport celica. I really like the car but the wheels that are on it are the standard 16 inch wheels of the 140 i think. ( 5 thin spokes). Ive been browsing the forums and I have a few questions needed answering as I dno wat wheels size and tyre profile to get :( . I really fancy some 18"s :D but have been told that the ride is very harsh with 35 profile tyres on. But it is much better with 40. Is this the case and is the ride so bad its unbearable. Also with 17" which I dnt really want is the right profile 214/45/17 and is the ride ok with this.

My car is the lagoon blue and was thinkin of buying a similar wheel to these:

Any1 got any comments on the wheels or what they think will look any better or any comments and advice welcome as it is really starting to do me head in as i cant make a proper decision:( .

Thanks

The Kato ones look pretty sweet... Personally, I'd stick with 17's on 45mm profile rubber, and lowering springs as the next purchase, but thats just me...

I have 18" alloys with 225/40/18 tyres, lowered/stiff suspension, rear TRD strut brace, and think the ride is OK. It's not teeth shattering at all, just nice and firm.

Obviously you're gonna feel potholes and manhole covers that are not flush with the road surface, but I try and avoid them the best I can anyway. :)

Hi, sorry to go off topic, can you tell me the name of that body kit on your gen 7 I really like the look of that and it looks nice in black too. Still not that enthusiastic about a gen 7 but as I say your kit looks the doggies bits.

Cheers, it's a Veilside body kit, fitted in Japan before the car was imported.

p.s. The colour is Pearl black, it looks black when the sky is overcast, but sparkles blue when in direct sunlight. ^_^

As for the wheels mate, You can go for the 18" if you have about a grand to burn etc they will fit and look stunning.

As for the standard ones that you have I believe they are standard to the T-sport in 01 as it was a pre face lift model, late 02/03+ are the facelift version where they actually took time in thinking what alloys to put with the packages (dynamic, sports and Premium) They all have alloy wheels as standard though

I got a couple of 'rattle cans' mixed up at a vehicle paint suppliers, and the name they had listed next to the code number was Black pearl. The guy did say there were a few names for that code, (Toyota 210) Carbon blue being one of them.
