My was bought in 2003(first registeredin 2002) i had to get the steering rack replaced (under warranty) in Sept 2005 after problems and a lot of noise at low speeds and reversing out of a space. I now need another one. I have been told that this work done in 2005 has only a one year guarantee from the toyota garage and a new steering rack could cost me over £1000. This is ridiculous and i am now unable to drive the car on the road without the MOT. I have heard that the steering rack warranty was extended after a problem in 1999 to 5 years? does anyone know if this is fact or fiction and where i can get a copy of this in writing?
