:D Hi All, newbie here! just bought a CTS 2003 in red! think the car is fantastic but the one thing thats a little annoying is the point that the valve lift kicks in! is there anyway to lower this? about 5k would be nice! mine kicks in at 6.2k! is that about normal?

Also! all the dash lights up green apart from the clocks! anyway to make it all light up red?

Sorry about all the questions chaps! a little over enthusiastic maybe?lol :P

Thanks all and hello again! :D

Hi

If you want to change lights in heating controls that pops out easy. Just unscrew gear knob, unclip the leather yoke that cover gear stick shaft and take it off, pull out ashtray. Control panel pulls out easy enough then, its just clipped in,but you have to unplug cig lighter and other plugs before you can have it out totally, mite be good idea to take off bat negative for safety. Be careful not to pull hard on any of them.Once you have that out guess you could change the bulbs,i havnt done it so dont know. Maybe get an after market radio with red display for other part.

I dont know if you can lower lift point, want to know what your at if your messing round with the ecu on the car, could end up with very expensive bill. Mite not be just a matter of lowering where the high lift cam swaps over, could have to mess with fueling and matter of getting that right ,if you brought it to a cowboy could be driving a rite dog at the end of it and have the instrument panel lit up like a Christmas tree!! 6.2k where my lift kicks in. Almost be cheaper and easier to put an induction kit on it for extra bit power. There was some talk of a box you could connect to the car on here before but dont know does it work, you'll have to search the forum for that topic and ask some of the people that bought one

U can buy a thing called an apexi power fc controller. basically it s a fully programable ecu controlls fuelling, lift point and rev limiter.

try looking at the thor racing website. you will need to get these guys to set it all up for u.

as skipper said realy, im sure someone on this forum has this done as he was saying his is the fastest TS if i remember rightly lolol i may be wrong.

think your looking at about £500 for this :) wouldnt like to imagine what petrol would be like using lift from 5000rpm

also dont think this will give you more power, just get you the power quicker :)

oh and all my lights are red, bit confused about this green ?

Thanks for the replys chaps  most of the time car is driven under 5k! so economy wouldnt change too badly! i just feel it kicks in far too late! i used to have a honda prelude 2.2 and the v-tec cut in at 5.5k! for that car i know you can buy a v-tec controller! Does a filter give much? is there a company in the midlands that tunes these cars?

Thanks all again!

The Compressor gets its lift at 5200rpm which has been programmed into the software.

I had my car dynoed at Weston Performance in Solihull (08452 606070) who do a lot of Jap tuning so may be worth giving them a call B)
