Induction Kits

Good Evening

Ok lets have some honest answers please! I have been lurking around the forums for a while now and i am especially interested in postings regarding gaining a little extra power from my CTS. However i can never seem to read a definitave answer as to the question on induction kits, all i ever seem to see is that they make the car sound better and use more fuel? So is it worth spending between £100-250 on something that does not offer much in the way of a power increase but does use more fuel, oh and sounds good in a tunnel! Or would i be better of spending the money on a new set of springs to improve the handling/performance. If anyone has made some distinct improvements in performance by fitting an induction kit then i would love to know. I would also like to know which ones you favour most.

Regards

Hi Mate, ive got the K&N Typhoon cost about £190, sounds soooo much better and believe it or it's improved my fuel consumption bout 2/3 mpg more :D . Did'nt really notice any gains in performance though  .

Is the TTE exhaust the one fitted to the compressor? if so how do you get around the single to twin exhaust, would you need to buy a new rear bumper to accomodate?

The TTE exhaust is just a single backbox with twin pipes.

Thanks damo, still a bit confused about the exhaust though? i have a T-Sport and the exhaust needs no manipulation to fit, but i am fairly sure that the comps twin exhaust is either fitted through the bumper or the bumper is specifically cut to accomodate.

Also any idea on a price for the TTE pipe?

lose the induction kit, apply drain pipe to the standard OE air filter, and you get a ram pressure increase. the faster you go the mroe air you get.
