E10 Suspension Noise

from the back of my car over rough terrain there is a very loud knocking noise, and me and work colleuges (mechanics who couldnt care less about the car so long as it runs) have got it down to the springs moving in the bottom cups, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if i'm way off course for finding the fault. any help would be greatly appreciated.

oh, the car had an mot just before i bought it and its been doing the noise long before then, so it cant be anything worrying, can it?

i get a sorta crunching sound from the front going over speed bumps?

nah, mines a definate knock. yours sounds like bottoming out

Are ur rear Bushins ok which side is it on passenger or driver

yeah, sounds like the rear anti roll bar knocking around in worn D bushings.

When were they changed last? If never, get them done as at about £10 a pair it's a good starting point (and a pretty common cause of rear knocking).

well, i've had the car 6 months, and it was never looked after before i got it (a testament to toyota that it still runs sweet as a nut!!) i'll have a good look sometime this week, but thats probably a good place to start. cheers all!!
