Chip Tuning

I am thinking trying a new "chip" in my 2007 D4D cat 2.2 T did anybody ve some information/ experience? What are yours opinions ? Did that works ? At what a price ? What brands names? Toyota sports have something but ......They say that ours 177 hp will be 204 hp . Hope someone can find this usefull. Thanks

i enquired about the genuine toyota tunig chip about 3yrs ago for my 2.0d4d but it wasnt available at that time. infact i only recently got a call for them to say the unit had been released and had been delayed due to licensing problems. i had already purchased a dimsport rapid module. they are italian. i had it fitted for over 2 yrs and it was impressive. not sure whether i will chip my 2.2 just yet but i took the unit off the old car just in case. i dont know if they are compatible though. according to the dimsport website the 150bhp will go to 177bhp.

the advantage of the toyota one is that it doesnt invalidate the warranty.

yes the dimsport worked well. i cannot compare to other chips but i would have it done again if i was in the same situation.

dimsport contact me and said that the price are 435€uros. I think i ll buy next month and i let you knhow :P .

that is a good price. around £250. are you fitting it yourself because it says that it needs soldering and i got the chap i know who does this modding buisness to do mine. i wouldnt have wanted to do it myself. unless they have changed the way they fit them.

parts king. how do yours connect if they are plug and play? in comparison to the dimpsort which attaches to the wiring loom behind the glove box does yours work the same way? i am not criticising your unit but just interested in how they work. i heard that some units just increase the fuel delivery but carnt they alter the engine parameters as well.

Ours are fully mapped depending on throtlle position, you get a black box and a wiring loom, the loom plugs onto the injectors, and you take a pos and neg from the Battery, it does increase fuel delivery but because its mapped it doesnt get overdone. The T180 is a different box, so I cant give you the exact lowdown on that one until we get stocks/specs

Power is increased by a minimum 20%

This is a interesting matter ,but there are some questions . Hho ve done this modification? Hhow long is running whith it ? There are no problems if plug in and out for example annual official inspection? No need any special adjustments ? Sorry my english. Thanks
