Recommended Posts

It can take more then one our to reach normal engine temperature. In very cold days and with the heating on it will never warm up.I told my problem with auris to mechaniks in Toyota service and they said it is normal for d-4d engines.

Did someone had the same problem.

That's new to me but I have a 1.4 D4D. It has been 7º to 10º C in the morning and it only takes at max 5 min to reach normal temperature. I can tell you that diesel engines reach normal operation temperature much quicker then others so I think what they told you is crap. Besides 1h is too much. Something fishy there either in the temp sensor on something in the engine.

Lowest outside temp I have seen is 5 degrees, even then the engine is at normal temp within 5 minutes. Engine is a 2.0 D4D.

I too have no problems, its taking about 5 mins to get to operating temp on my D4D 1.4.. it is very sensitive when its cold though so i can imagine its a pain... when its up to full temp the engine is a dream !!! Get it back to toyota !!

Do You have power heat on when it warms for 5 minutes and it's important what temperature is outside. If it's 0 or lower outside it takes more then 5 minutes eaven with power heat on.

when power heat is on, it takes 10-15 minutes to get full heat in the car....

if it takes longer on your`s, something is wrong....
