Standard Ehaust And Tte Silencer Sizes.

A slightly strange problem. My standard exhaust seems to get lost becuase of the size of the facelift bumper i have installed. I'm going to change it to a TTE silencer, however i'm unsure exactly how much extra length the TTE silencer has over the standard box.

Ideally i'd like the TTE to poke out atleast 2 inches from the bumper. But in reality is it the same size as the standard box?

I've seen the TTE box on MiniMarcs car but as he has a pre-facelift bumper his exhaust sticks out just the right amount. However with a facelift bumper would the TTE dissapear aswell?

Any help, suggestions of some sort of extension, tech spec measurements/docs would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Armz.

dont like look of tte silencer - twin pipes is very old hat and has a more than slight resemblance to the type r exhaust. think yor car looks spot on now - i had two blue corollas previous to my t sport so i thought it would be sad buying another blue corolla but looking at the pictures of yours ...... mmm. some **** reversed into my rear bumper a few weeeks ago so looks like a facelift bumper will be going on mine. i will do it after crimbo when my work slows up. will have to fit sideshirts too or would look a lil bit silly. Armz why didnt you colour code the bottom of your front bumper?

The TTE on my facelift only just pokes past the rear bumper.

As for it sitcking out 2 inches it's a long way off that!!

I'll try and post a pic up later!

Thanks mate, but i don't really want to get a different make exhuast as i have no idea which type or make would be best, let alone reasonably priced. Thats why i've decided on a TTE, although i don;'t like the narrow diameter of the pipes, but the noise is more important. I didn't colour code the bottom soiler as i am considering a front lip, but still not decided, i suppose i could always get my current lip sprayed quickly, if i decide not to get the front splitter.

A pic would be great, as the ehaust looks good on MiniMarc's car but he doesn''t have a facelift bumper, so i am very curious what they would look like.

Technically I have a remus rear silencer and not a TTE one, but putting them side-by-side, you'd struggle to tell the difference (apart from the engraved logo on the tail pipes).

If you want an extra bit of pipe showing out the back then just get a couple of soup tins and stick em onto the existing pipes, that should give you the extra 2" you are after. Plus 9 out of 10 18yr old blokes think soup tins look awesome on their cars.

Oh no, definetly not the look i am going for. I just want my exhaust to protude slightly from under the bumper. At the moment, my exhaust can't be seen at all, and quite frankly looks like i've either got the wrong exhaust on or i've fitted an overly large bodykit to the car.

wow, all the ones for the corolla that seemed ok-ish on that site were a minimum of 300 pounds, upwards to 700. Ouch!

Even if the TTE sits short, i think i'll end up getting that just because of the price, 230-240.

I don't 'need' a new exhuast, just wanted to smarten it up abit and make it look right, but not at 300-700 pound cost, lol. I'd put that towards a front splitter, new grilled and grooved discs, ebc pads, and HID ultimate conversion.

So might just be the 'tester' and try the TTE one hopefully will look good, or i will have to ask my bodyshop to help me somehow make it fit and look right. lol

Hey Armz, did you see that envy now sell the c-one aluminium radiator heat shield now? Shame the master brake cylinder stopper is so expensive as I might have ordered a few bits from them.

I noticed a lot of other things, and quite frankly if i wasn't holding onto my creditcard so tightly i would have easilly splashed out a few grand frivilously there and then.

I've overted my eyes and closed that envy page as it's giving me way too many ideas and soon i'm going to spend more on the car than it's worth. Not my original plan. Things are getting out of hand,:rolleyes:

Thing is i've bookmarked it to my desktop, so now it's going to be staring at me all the time, winking and saying 'come and spend some money here, you know you want to'. Argh! Temptations. LOL! :) I can't seem to make my finger click the delete button no matter how hard i try.

Cheers

What's wrong with the TTE backbox?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

personal preference - just i lil bit to germanic for a jap car, but thats only my opinion. a slash cut single pipe looks far better and a lot more inkeeing with the jap scene but it depends on what you want to achieve.
