Engine Warning Light On T Sport

Hi, can anyone tell me why my engine warning light is on.

I have recently purchased the car privately and the warning light came on a day later. booked it in for a 45000 mile service and diagnostics.

The toyota dealer said the car was an import from northern Ireland and was unable to sort the problem.

I did note that thw air filter had not been changed although it looked fine.

I wasnt happy with the toyota dealer at the service centre. I will be writing to the manager shortly. Cost for this was nearly 250 pounds. 35 pounds plus vat was for the diagnostic.

So is there any one out there who can shine a light on this engine warning light. The car is a 01 Tsport. Oh. I took the Battery out to charge and the light went out when I put the Battery back in- light came back on that day.

Anyone out there that can help.

Many Thanks. :(

What was the engine code when they did the diagnostic at toyota mate, if its was anything to do with closed loop fuel supply of engine running to lean its due to induction kit and the cold weather!

They are just making excuses, there's hardly any difference between the uk and jap models, nevermind one from NI.

Did they give you a code when they hooked the car up, as where they hook the computer to is the same on all models, so you should have had a code come up.

And this usually costs about £40

the light went off because disconnecting the Battery resets the ECU, if it's a 1 time error it will stay off when the Battery is reconnected.

But it's got to be a bit more serious to come back on again.

Any mods on the car?????

Dunno why they are moaning, Toyota warranties cover any car in Europe!

It may be out of warranty but what would they do if it wasn't? They would have to fix it!
