Hi

I currently have Michelin Primacy tyres fitted but they are due for renewal. I would like to know what other people have fitted to there cts and how they rate them in all conditions! also what sort of mileage they have on them.

By the way, wheels are still standard 16"

Thanks

michelins are good they last longest but they are most expensive depends how many miles you do a year as to whether worth paying the extra

ive used Pirelli p6000 had no problem with them and also good lifespan on them with previous car a celica

currently got good year f1 on my cts they grip ok had em 4 months so far so good no problems to report

i use Bridgestone potenza so3's - not cheap at £105 a corner (205/50/16) you get good mileage out of them and grip is really good even in the wet. they also have a very stiff sidewall which reduces bodyroll but ride quality is affected. dont think you can get a much better tyre but the price reflects that. try them and i garuntee you will be impressed especially at the traffic light gran prix - 4000rpm launch and no wheel spin!

Pirelli P6000 for me. I changed it from the standard Bridgestone turanza. Also changed from 195/55/16 to 205/50/16 and handles so much better. Why did toyota go for the high side walls, makes no sense whatsoever?

Goodyear eagle F1's all the way for me. When I had them on the Yaris TS it was like having gods feet!!

The Standard Bridgestones are pathetic as I found out last night, scary :o

the standard bridgestones are scary - they arent meant for performance cars. when they tested some of the worst handling cars on top gear the prius was up there with the smart car but the stig said the prius handled so bad was down to the tyres - turanzas same as t sport. why toyota put economy tyres on instead of performance tyres is beyond me. economy tyres use less juice so they must help with mpg figures. i think the performance figures toyota gave out where correct. my car was slow until i put decent tyres on, you cant get the power down with turanza's so 0-60 of 8+ secs is probably right - this is why the celica was quicker on paper as it came with good tyres.

Youre spot on  Cant wait for the tyres to wear down, so I can stick some decent rubber on. I've got Michelin Pilot(the economy ones) on the back of mine though, and Turanzas on the front. Pretty bad!

Lucky the CTS comes with stability control. I'm sure it wasn't my talent that saved the car last night :D .

Conti Premium contacts are a good compromise between performance and durability.

My local tyre place does them for around £65 fitted.

I have just put 4x Continental Premium Contact 2 on mine, but i have 205/55/16's and they're £73ish, even though they are slighly wider. This size is ok according to Mr T

be good to hear some feedback on how you found the toyos. i know they are very soft and grip is suppose to be good - let me know. not sure if they do good mileage but for that price you can afford to change a bit more often. have some fun this weekend and tell us how they faired.
