just organised my renewal in past day or 2 ive got a quote with equity red star for 390 with ncd protect and legal and extras policy excess is 100 which is lower than my current 200 pol xs

swift cover worth a try, rac very competitive, privilege, virgin money to name a few

just a word of warning guys some insurers will not pay out for any mods you might have, if they were to be damaged in accident the insurers will only put the car to standard spec so if you have fair few mods go to the likes of adrian flux or specialist cover

I would give Esure a ring. I'm 31 with 10 years NCB for only £360 a year with protected NCB and legal cover. Not Bad. ;)

Mrs Kingo uses Direct Line, I get prices from competitiors every year and nobody has ever come near to their prices for her Yaris. Shop around, you could save a lot of money

Kingo

mine was £280 from tesco... could have been cheaper if i went for the budget version. i do low mileage though, my car is now 2 years old and only has 16,500 miles on the clock.

Both i and my wife have just moved from norwich union to toyota's own saved in excess of £200 fully comp on the avensis tourer T180 this years plate, we are both on the policy for £381.00 i got 9yrs NCB.

There number if you want to give them a bell is: 0800 350 500 "nothing lost on giving them a ring"

  • 1 month later...

Update - tried all the insurance companies listed could not get below 800 quid on a quote phone current insurer direct line asked them why my renewal quote had gone up again by 100 quid, they said it was general costs. anyway got a quote with them again as if i was a new customer same price as last year. Reapplied for this as a new customer and let my old policy expire. Got it at the same price.

Word of advice NEVER accept the renewal price from your insurance apply as a new customer and get the discount it seems they load your renewal quote thinking you will automatically accept it.

Bargains to be saved out there my fellow CTS drivers :D :D

heres some info from the inside i.e i work for an insurance company

if your premium goes up over a certain amount the companies quite often have a percentage to play with to keep your business

its usually anwere from 5 - 15% long as u ain claimed

if your 30+ with full ncd the going rate seems to be 325-400 if u find cheaper snap there hands off

Hi,

I've been doing some test quotes and its going to cost me about £900  , with one claim and zero no claims bonus.

Expensive I know, the cheapest was at bell direct.

Cheers

22- 3 points (defective tyre so not a huge hike in price)- 5 years no claims- £678 fully comp from direct line

When I asked adrian flux (who I was previously insured with on my old car) they wanted £2000! I told them about the quote, they couldn't within a grand of it
