Brake Pads

Does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to change the brake pads on a 2004 Avensis?

The reason I ask is that I have owned a Honda Prelude in the past and you needed a special piston winding tool, hell of a job!!

Any info will be greatfully received... ;)

hi

as far as i 've seen -- you only need to push an actuators cylinder pictons in to release the disc/s and after to change each pad. It is understood in order to change both rear ones - you've to release the parking brake level.

i suppose having no mistake.

There are pictures of the calipers on this site.

As far as I can see there isn't any grooves on the pistons. This suggests that they aren't the rewind type.

Pushing them back shouldn't therefore be a problem. If they are stiff you may be able to use a C clamp or one of these:
