Why Does The Engine Say Yamaha

i was at a local garage today having an oil change when speaking to the bloke i noticed that on the left hand side of the engine the side with the belts that it had yamaha stamped on the side asked the garage he couldnt tell me. Are they part of the same company if so why have they stamped it on a toyota as yamaha dont make cars or am i wrong .

Toyota commissioned Yamaha to design the 2ZZ-GE, and it shares several similarities with street bike engines, the most notable being the relatively high RPM design.

I know that Yamaha designed the cylinder head for the 4A-ge engine - that's why it's so good :D

cool didnt relise that toyota shared with yamaha on some of there cars yamaha's are great bikes so cant be bad :thumbsup:

I don't think the general motoring public realise just how much modern cars owe to developments from other areas such as motorcycling. Toyota are not the only ones to put motorcycle technology to use with four wheels instead of two.
