Yaris T Sport 1.5 Engine Warning Light 2nd Topic

Hi everyone, this is my 2nd topic and thanks to you all out there for your feedback. Got to the cause of the problem on the engine warning light-something which Johnsons of Toyota in wirral couldn't get yet they charged me 35 pounds plus vat, also had a 45000 mile service carried out and the total was 242 pounds. I found the overall service unsatisfactory and work ticked off but not carried out as I checked later. I think they assumed I was a simple customer with money to burn. I have written a detailed letter to the manager and will keep you all posted to the response.

I got another diagnostics done with a Toyota main dealer in Ireland as I travelled from Liverpool to Ireland for christmas in my T sport yaris. I went to the toyota main dealer in wirral to get a service done as it was due and I had a long journey ahead.

Whilst in southern Ireland I went to a toyota dealer and showed him the problem and he got his technician to do a diagnostic check there and then-didnt charge me either and took 2 mins max.

The cat on exhaust is on the way out and I showed him my invoice from the Johnsons of toyota on wirral for the cost of the service and add ons and he was in bits and the same service there was less than half what Id paid and he pointed out that there were items not done- ie air filter/Greasing of doors/handbrake adjustment/wiper blades worn/ and various add ons for the bill which he wouldnt justify. By the way he wasnt looking to rip me off as he advised me to conplain.

Can anyone help me as to a suitable patten cat exhaust for my 2001 T pot.

I wasn't looking at modifying the exhaust but if it saves money on a pattern one then so be it.

Only the cat seems to be gone so any help is appreciated as the cat on its own from toyota is nearly 900 pounds.

thanks.

Hi mate, sorry to hear of your problems, but you say the 'cat' is gone? On a 6 year old car?? They should last at least 100,000 miles on a small engine like yours, if properly maintained, E.G. fuel system is working OK.

OK, I've just re-read your post and am I right in thinking the 'cat' has been removed?????

Hello

The reason the cat is £900 from toyota is that they will replace the whole bit of pipe with the cat, so you might aswell find a cat and get a custom exhaust company to weld it in for you!
