Considering Yaris 1.8 Sr

Am disappointed with my new Auris due to build quality, rattles, engine noise etc. My wife has just purchased a new Yaris 1.3 SR which is a nice responsive drive with none of the issues mentioned above. I am considering part ex-ing Auris for Yaris 1.8 SR. Advice please from any 1.8 SR owners out there. Is it as good as the brochure says it is??? (Does it do what it says on the tin?) - Unfortunate cliche, sorry!

One thing I know for sure is that the 1.8 SR is built in Japan so the build quality won’t be an issue like other European built cars

I totaly agree! I have the 1.8 Yaris TS which is equivalent to the RS in the UK, and I am loving it! No problems what so ever! And yes, it was made in Japan!

Hi

There's a write-up by a forum member on his 1.8 SR here if you are still looking.

I'm looking to change one of our cars and the Yaris SR 1.8 has come into my sights as a possibility, there are some excellent deals around at the moment on this particular model.

Has anyone else got any owner views on the Yaris 1.8 SR?

Andy

I am sorry to say this but i think you will be disappointed with the SR Yaris as well. I started with a Starlet SR it was a great car. I then went for the Yaris T-sport still a good car but not as good handling or fun to drive as the Starlet. I went for a test drive in the new SR and i must admit it was very disappointing, not only was i unable to even find the sports suspention i could not find the power promised from the 1.8 engine,as for build quality i guess the test car was not made in Japan.

Sorry to also admit this people i went next door to Suzuki and test drove the Swift Sport and it was just like my old Starlet but 100 times better it brought back a massive grin.
