Well I'm afraid I would raise hell with them. They are obviously using it as a fill in job because I could have built a new car by now. Its up to you but have you thought about just demanding a refund or another vehicle? Trading standards might help.

I agree with trading standards route. You have been more than reasonable with them considering the timescale involved.

Hi Belair

I have no technical knowledge about cars so won't even try to offer my opinion there. However on the side of rattling Toyota's front foor I can offer this advice.

I had significant problems with my RAV4 that the local garage couldn't get to the bottom of. I gave them a fair chance then got Toyota head office involved. I still have all of the numbers and contact details and will PM you with them. I was firm but fair all the way through and ultimately got my car replaced. One of the things that drove me to get the replacement was that I wasn't happy with the amount of attempts they had, or where they adjusted something else that didn't need adjusted. Trading Standards advice was correct and Toyota eventually acknowledged this.

All the managers details that I have sent you have a fair bit of say in what happens with your vehicle, so it may be worth giving them a call and getting them involved. I personally think you have been more than fair and that they don't seem to be too motivated to fix your car. (this suprises me as they have lent you a vehicle for this long, when I had a loan vehicle that was when they really put the effort in).

Regards

Richard

In my little database of fixes there are 2 similar examples;

Ingolf on his 4.3 had new pipes from the filter to the tank which worked and eifelbud replaced the clips on the inlet pipe to the fuel filter which also worked.

If you search by name you should find these cases.

EDIT; See posts 22 and 25 in here-

Just pass the co-ordinates to the US Airforce indicating imbeciles are encamped there. It'll be misunderstood to infidels and yer problems sorted. Just then claim for a total write-off 22 hours later.
