I have noticed a slight clutch judder when pulling away in first gear. This is worse if pulling away from a steep hill. A few months back I also had a squeaky clutch pedal when the weather was damp. Any ideas anyone?

To rickjhns, As far as your aware has your car done 92,000miles ( that would be some clutch) on one clutch?? Judder mostly denotes worn centre plate or pressure plate. Is clutch bearing making noise, If pedal pressed noise goes ? Next thing is you will read a lot on this forum about DM/FLYWHEELS not sure if your model has this. I do quite a bit of work on diesels, just what people buy around my part of the world D4D engine has this flywheel & they play up sometimes at considerable cost. But we allways junk the flywheel & fit conversion kit ie: solid steel flywheel & standard 3 part clutch. Flywheel fitted, never change again. If clutch goes just change clutch at an amazing amount less money. Scarey bit over, other FORUM users should be able to confirm what sort of flywheel you have, if its just a clutch. Why bother with Toyota prices go to local garage, maybe one that friends use. At the worst new clutch, at the best slight judder. Have you checked your clutch for slip, select higher gear with h/brake on raise clutch pedal on the slow side if it cuts out clutch should be allright, if engine keeps running or tries to keep running rather than stall clutch could be on the way out. Wait for other postings regarding FLYWHEEL as i think DMF is just for Diesels??????
