Faulty or incorrectly adjusted bonnet sensor is common on rollas, though particularly the later models.

Also very common cause on the Celica with that alarm system is keys or coins left in either the drinks holder or ashtray; remove all metal objects from anywhere near the centre console or the dash.

Also check your door and boot sensors by checking the interior light goes on/off when doors opened and closed.

no i could'nt get it sorted did'nt fancy taking it to dealers to be charged for an a over priced charge for a siren so i just unpluged the wire plug out rather than the dome fuse which takes out the cd player and interior lights and remote locking if want to locate the siren you'll find its under the water bottle for the wipers to get acess your gonna have to take off the plastic cover under the wheel arch then just unplug it, if you find out whats the problem let us know cheers

is it the non vvti corolla, i have had problems with mine, first it kept going of for no reason, which turned out to be a loose alternator belt, then the remote stopped working, which was the Battery in the fob, and a couple of times i had to resetthe remote (hold both buttons together till the hazards flash)

not sure what you mean by the tvss system thing tho cos tvss is toyota vehicle security system, its the whole alarm, also if it is an earlier corolla the alarm shouldnt activate on the key, only the fob, not sure on the later ones though, the coin thing in the celicas was on the later alarm where the pot everyone put coins in is directly above the radar sensor, if it is a later alarm, the radar sensors do have a habit of being set to high, might be worth checking

if you do have the later system then there is a procedure to tell what set the alarm of last, it requires lots of opening and shutting of doors, but as long as you can open the door without setting the alarm of it will tell you whats going wrong, might have a print out of the procedure, will look for it

well i know my car batterys fine cos the bloke who i bought it off bought me new Battery from Halfords and installed it for me i replaced the fob batterys still the same thing after resyncing the fob alarm just went off the thing is it was fine for a month before i sent it to a garage for a service after that it just kept going off not the the mechanic will ever admit it so i kinda think what spannermonkey saying is exactly whats happened here accept i dont know whats causing it even looking at the engine oh according to the manual book the tvss system somthing to do with inside the car alarm sensor if in case you gotta leave your pet in there and it automatically locks your doors after 30 secounds thats if the keys are'nt in the ignition you can switch it on and off and just have stardard alarm

Hi, my fault was the car Battery, one of the cells had failed, Halfords tested it and replaced it under the guarantee, it was only 9 months old!! The alarm has been silent since!! Happy days!

Thanks for all the advice!

Mat.
