Leaking T-bar

Recommended Posts

Im going to get a T-bar Turbo but was just wondering is it a hard job to fix a leaking T-Bar roof? Is it just as simple as replacing the rubber seals?

If its a hard job I might just have to go with a hard top :(

Thanks

I replaced the seals on mine. They can be expensive!!!

Try using some silicone lubricant stuff from Halfords on them first though!

so long as you dont let them dry out and use silicone lubricant on them once in a while, they are just fine. was never an issue with my first one, the odd day going topless more than made up for a slightly damp seat in the winter :D

No problem on mine either, but then its seals have been looked after.

If you can't refurb the existing ones with silicone, you can buy replacements (From USA I believe, there's a thread on it somewhere).

Also you can get cams that allow you to adjust the glass position to improve the seal.

Good luck, T-Bars are so good if you can get one with good seals.

When I had the Mr2, I bought new seals and the adjusters can't remember exactly what they are, but I'm sure they're toyota parts? I used silicone lube on the new seals and never had any issues.

It's cheaper to try a tin of spray silicone lube first though!
