Hi,

Does anyone know how to change headlight bulbs on a 2007 Avensis? I want to fit brighter bulbs but not sure how to change them.

Can anyone point me to some decent instructions (with pics would be ideal) or post some hints here please?

Thanks.

Are there no instructions in your handbook; most Toyota and Lexus handbooks have good instructions for this in them, even if the writer obviously changed bulbs in a vehicle with no engine / Battery etc as the access to the lights is almost always more tricky than it appears in the diagrams.

Handbook should also tell you what bulbs you need before you start. If H4 then you're in luck because the Philips Xtreeme +80% bulbs are Orsum and only £25 a pair.

Bet they're not that though; My IS has different bulbs which I can only think were fitted to make it more difficult for me to buy non Toyota replacements, whereas all of our older Toyotas use the H4s.

Good luck.

If your car was an earlier one i'd be able to offer some advice yogi B, but I think the lights were changed for 2007 models, to make the bulb change easier.

If they are the same lights as on my 2003 D4D T-spirit you will need tiny hands, 2 x H7 bulbs and a good swear-word vocabulary.

Try doing a search in the avensis forum on "bulb" or "headlight", you should find some good advice there.

Good luck and if you haven't bought the bulbs yet, i'd save your money and buy a HID kit for about £70 from eBay.

The difference is amazing ;)

Welcome to the club by the way :)

To Change headlight bulb. On My Avensis T4 53 plate it necessitates removing the front "bumber" to gain access and it needs 2 of you if you do not want to damage the paintwork. It is good if the 2007 has been modified to make bulb change easier. A dealer will charge £70+ for changing a headlight bulb on my Avensis.

No handbook with my 2007, it's leased and the lease company have been a bit tardy chasing the handbook and service book up with the supplying dealer.

It's a 57 plate 2.0 D4-D Colour Collection estate if that makes any difference.

AFAIK the car takes H7 bulbs.

Cheers.
