Hey,

I'm having problems with my toyota avensis at the moment. It struggles to go up small inclines in the road, yet it runs smoothly on flat and downhill surfaces. Despite it being in first and second gear, speed and acceleration gradually decreases as I try to go up the hill. It is a deisel engine and we have shown it to every single mechanic, even the Toyota dealers. The problem cannot be traced at all. Its fuel line is clear and machinery had been used to see whether any faults could be traced. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks

To Zigi,

I think other forum user (glod) may well be on right track ie: Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve. It is a very common fault on most Diesels & seems to me to be over looked on a regular basis by garages. Note posting further down Avensis Forum by philthegas? Different speed but same problems. Good luck.
