I have my new rav d4d about 3 months and I've scratched the rear bumper taking something out of the boot, I went to Halfords to get a scratch repair kit but I couldn't find my colour code. Does anyone know where the vin plate is likely to be on the rav4.

Thanks.

Sorry - I really meant to commiserate with you for scratching the treasure so soon. Easy done, but with the right colour and a little elbow work, it'll soon be right as whatever. You'll need to post up a photo or more of the car so those of us wi older cars can foam at the mouth....!

Welcome to the club. I'm so sorry that the first reply was from bothy. He is our version of Father jack out of the Father Ted sitcom. He is out of his head on alcohol and chemicals, shouts abuse at us very frequently and can ramble in goodness knows what dialect but occasionally his alter ego spurts out some very eloquent english (but oddly only to foriegn people). We think the world of him but things will be much more stable around here after social services re-capture him.

I take your D4D was new (please add some detail to your profile) so you can find the VIN No at the bottom of your windscreen or an a little lable at the bottom of the B pillar when you open the passenger door.

The top of the bumper is very easily marked and you can protect it with one of these;

Keep the chin up. If anchormans train was running on time (ie the same day) then he may have got to post first!! I assume thats why you bought a car rather than a railway pass!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Looking at Anchorman's excellent instructions, unless you've got a heated garage, you'll have to wait until spring, maybe summer, before you can fit those bumper protectors. :lol:

Priorities

My faither lives in the auld caravan ootside. the wife works. i spend my time in a cupboard on the computer.

And the RAV gets heated treatment.

By the way, large propane bottles are not so expensive; pickup/borrow a space heater of decent size and you can work outside comfortably.
