Hi can anyone help i have a 1992 surf turbo diesel i just had a new head fitted and since i got it back i have had problems with the electrics i returned to the garage and they said the batteries were knackered so i bought two new batteries still the same problem. When i turn the ignition on my rev counter goes potty then it settles down i turn the key and she starts up i drive 2 or 3 miles turn it of and it wont start again, jump it from another Battery and it starts no problem, the alternator has been checked out ok i am at a loss obviously something has not been put back right when the head was done i need HELP. I am disabled and use a wheelchair i have contacted the garage but no response, i am stuffed without wheels any suggestions would be welcome thanks Bill. :

Something draining the batteries then. Could be that the earth strap from engine to chassis is broken or not reconnected. Check the earth terminals on the batteries are tight..

yes Battery terminals tight new batteries just fitted a friend thinks the mechanic may have trapped or damaged a wire somewhere ,thanks anyway for your thoughts.
