Reverse Wire

Anyone know where I can pick up a feed to the reverse wire for an '04 Avensis hatch?

The reverse ligt is in the upper part of the tailgate, and runs via the rubber hose into the main body. Does anyone know if it runs down to the rear cluster loom, or direct to the front of the car?

I'm trying to fit reversing sensors, and need this feed to make it work. I'm not going to pick it up at the reverse bulbholder as this would mean running a wire the length of the tailgate and having to somehow get it inside the car without looking awful!

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

Thanks

Would it not be easier to pick up the feed direct from the reverse switch on the transmission case? The wire could then just pass through any rubber bung on the bulkhead and under the carpets. At least this way your not risking damage to the existing loom and/or tailgate fittings etc.

Hi,

Visit the toyota publications site at

http://techdoc.toyota-europe.com/aim_Searc...p;strAccGroup=0

and search for installation manuals concerning your version of Avensis.

Narrow your search for "parking aid systems".

There you will find the original manuals for installing the Toyota rear (and front) parking sensors. These instructions give guidelines (and pictures) on where is the reverse wire and how to use it. Follow the instructions and things will be VERY simple.

Hope it works for you.

Frank

Happy Holidays.

Is it a TOYOTA kit you are fitting?

The reverse bulb feed wire will be red or pink. (check it with a power probe or test light before you cut/solder anything though) Earth is white.

Pretty easy.

Mart.
