Just A Follow Up From The 'how Crap Are Toyota' Post

well as you will no i was rather annoyed after my service to find the Battery light come on and the electrics die at 6pm! so, the car goes back in the next day, they give me an aygo and promise it will be sorted the day after. er no, it was two days as the alternator had gone open circuit, no idea why and i was'nt given an explaination either. however they did tinker with a few things in the mean time. they replaced the inlet manifold, there was a crack in it apparently, only very small though, they changed the cabling from the Battery to the alternator and fixed my front splitter, all very good.

and yes they have given me my own parking space at york toyota now. nightmare!

hi,thats nothing compared to the local vauxhall dealer in my area 3 months to fit a new engine,8 months to rectify an oil leak,toyota dealers are mega stars compared to vauxhall dealers.

yes id agree toyota are mega stars compared to vauxhall

mine was in for service and they found a fault covered by the waaranty and fixed it....vauxhall would try to see if they could get away withbilling you to fix it first.... i know from experience they look for loopholes

We all experence good and bad garages, Take toyota oxford they were the best for after care, now i would not touch them with a bargepole, I now drive all the way to a toyota garage in wales(builth wells) becase they treat my pride and joy with care, so my sugestion to you, change your toyota garage no matter how far you have to travel. and if its under warenty you can still take it to another toyota dealership.

difficulty putting in second sepecially when cold, i lil bit crunchy going into third. had latest clutch upgrade, modded cables n modded master cylinder which sorted most things. i've heard people having new syncros installed. also an intermitten issue with tickover which when i posted someone had same n had new inlet gasket. it had the problem just after i got her 18 months ago but nothing has showed on diagnostics and was proving a mystery. tbh i was gonna do the inlet myself as its not a difficult job and was gonna get some jap made gaskets.

Ahhh crap secong gear, I've had this with all my T Sports, tried everything to cure it yet i still couldnt get rid, my Compressor is horrid when cold!

hi ,chris my compressor crunches into third gear well when i say crunch i mean not smooth,but as you say only when cold and not all the time,the car has only covered 4,000 miles,but have noticed if you do a lazy change to third it's not smooth,if you do a proper change it's smooth,strange but that's what i have noticed.when it's all warm it's spot on.

ive just had my compressor in for crunching in third gear they replaced third and forth gears and sychro,s but it seemed ok at first but is not much better now .it is dam annoying on a new car .may be chris could contact toyota on our be half and see if they can come up with a permanant fix as a lot seem to have a problem would restore a lot of faith in toyota if they could finally sort this gearbox issue. instead of us being fobbed of because there is not a solution to the gearbox problem but we are all just left complaining about it :(

hi chris,that would be great as i bought my compressor from rrg salford,but have not took it back to be looked at because all the compressors seem to have this problem and there is no fix apparently so i await the outcome.many thanks. :D
