Exhaust Rattling

I will be contacting the dealer about this when they reopen after the Christmas break, but I'm wondering if other have had this problem too.

Basically, my exhaust is rattling when I ease off on the accelerator or go in reverse. My father, who has more experience than me with these things, had a look under the car and there is a short bar running from left to right under the exhaust pipe about half way back under the car. The exhaust is almost touching this bar and the rattling seems to be the exhaust rattling off this bar. He isn't sure of the exact problem, but thinks it could be something like the rubbers having gone soft or faulty causing the exhaust to hang a bit lower than it should, getting within reach of that bar.

Obviously, we won't be doing anything with it as it is under warranty and don't want to risk voiding that. But is this an issue others have had too?

I've not expreienced this one yet, but possibly the 2.2 Diesel Engine has it's exhaust routed differently.

Just count yourself lucky you don't have the many interior trim rattles other people have. At leat the exhaust mounts can me manipulated a little without causing visible marks to the everyday user.
