Trc/vsc Light After Getting Tyres Changed

ever since i had my front tyres replaced (last week), the "TRC OFF" and "VSC" lights keep coming on whilst driving.

i have tried the usual reset, car on flat level surface etc etc... but it's still happening.

it doesn't happen straight away, but will come one a short while into the journey.

any ideas ?

You need to connect it to a diagnostic computer, prob know that ,it could be a hundred an one thing with cars now days. It could just be a coincidence with the replacement rubber. I had a fault like that, wouldn't bring it on every time i started the car,the car would have to go through 2 or 3 full warm ups and have the fault logged to bring on the MIL light, but when it would bring it on was just at the start of the journey, just when pulling out of the car park or housing estate. Faulty air injection pump for me,not saying thats you prob

remember your tyre issue and i gave you a few pointers but you shot me down! i presume you have now gone for 205/50/16? your tracking was out before judging by the extent of wear you incurred - now you have put a slightly wider tyre on you have extenuated the problem, putting your tracking further out. go have the tracking checked at a reputable garage ( some places havent got a clue) and you should find your tracking is out.

no i didn't go for wider tyres, i replaced them with the same size (195/55/16), and my tracking wasn't out as it was tested when i got the new tyres put on. and i know the check was done correctly as i watched them do it and they showed me the laser guide results.

i would get a second opinion - use a bit of latteral thought. excessive wear on outside edge, now you have changed the tyre you now longer have a worn edge so the tyre is sitting different if you get me.

and something like that would cause the TRC OFF and VSC lights to come on randomly during a journey ?

and assuming my tracking has always been out.... would i not have got those lights coming on previously, before the tyres were so worn?

Someone knocked a wheel speed sensor when taking the wheels on and off?

well i don't know to be honest. the tires were not done at a toyota garage. would there be much point taking it back to the place i got the tires done? i'm not sure they would know what to do if i went back to them and said my warning lights keep coming on since i got them done.

but then again, why should i have to pay to get the problem fixed if it was caused by the tires getting fitted.

Or caught the wire to the sensor (knocked it loose) and the tyre's chafed through it. Have a look in the wheel arches. If you can't see anything obvious, try Mr T and his intel tester if it was the wheel place's fault good luck.

excuse me??? what makes you think you can make false allegations like that?

1) i haven't been driving "so fast"

2) you have no idea what weather i have been driving in

3) if you haven't anything constructive to post then don't.

4) your post has been reported

Do you have factory fitted sat nav by any chance ??

If so,there is a Calibration menu for when you have changed your tyres to reset the tyre diameter to standard.

if you have nothing constructive to post about the issue in question, then please DO NOT post. i am not interested in a flame war. it is clear that certain people in this thread are only interested in that. to address some of the posts (some constructive, some not) - see below.

if the fault has been caused by the tire fitting company, then i clearly would like to get all the information and more than opinion before i go back to the place and accuse them of causing the problem. bearing in mind that they already checked the tracking and showed me that it was spot on (something that i paid for them to check).

mods - feel free to remove all the posts in this thread that don't relate to the original issue.

i have never attempted to fit new Speakers, i may have considered it at some point though. i have fitted an amp and sub and a new headunit with ipod kit, nothing else in terms of ICE. i also don't have rear doors so your memory might be failing you a little.

there are pics of what i have done posted already, you are free to look at them as is everyone else.

no i don't have the toshiba satnav kit. however as i haven't changed the tire size, would this still be necessary when putting back on the same size ?

no-one forces you to reply to, so you don't need to in future.

you seem to think that i must take your advice in all cases. i prefer to get many opinions and then take the one i feel is the best. in a previous thread you suggested that the opinion of someone with 20 years experience of the topic was wrong. that says a lot about you. please dont post in other threads i may create, this will stop you from feeling as if your opinions are listened to.
