  • 2 weeks later...

just back form the tyre place and got them to check the tracking again.... it's still not needing adjusted.

front wheels are showing 3 on both sides (toe in/out)

back wheels are both showing 7.

(this is what it was before the tyres were changed also)

i got them to check the tyre pressures (just in case this might cause the lights to come on)... he had set them to 32. checked the list they had and it said front should be 35. so he's put them to 35.

should tyre pressure cause the lights to come on ?

i haven't given it a test drive yet (usually takes 5mins or so before the lights come on)... but if they still come on then i guess it's a visit to toyota for them to work it out.

is the steering wheel straight when driving in a straight line, if they adjusted the tracking with the steering wheel slightly off centre there is a sensor on steering which monitors position so when your driving in a straight line the steeringwheel is slightly offset so the car thinks it's pulling to the side and faults light up. (normally faults after couple of miles) hope this helps

the tracking was not adjusted at all, as when it was checked it didn't need adjusted (was checked twice).

is there much difference in wear now between the front tyres and rear ones, try swapping front for the rear wheels and see what happens, iv'e got to get some tyres as well but think will replace all 4 at the same time.

the backs were not bad really, they weren't flagged as needing replaced at the service.

the fronts were and that's why i replaced them.

i still haven't bothered to take it to toyota yet for them to see. other than the lights coming on, i can't actually feel anything out of the normal.
