Sold her today, she is gone to a good home, chap has a 1994 GT 20V Corolla at the moment. Pleasant 9 months with her, could see myself going Celica again in the future.

Nice version, mate - hope you got a good price for it ;)

Did well enough, got €4800 for her, was asking €4950. Loads of timewasters ringing me, then they can't get insured, can't get the loan, can't buy till they sell their own car bla bla bla. The chap who bought her knows what they're worth. People around here asking more for Irish spec 3sfe or whatever they're called. I was in no hurry to sell as I haven't my next car picked out or decided on what exactly I want next. I bought a 1997 Rover 400 diesel a few months back as a spare car if you like (bought for small money). It allowed me to wait for the €€€s I wanted for the Celica. Rover not too bad to drive, an increase in the fueling and boost sees over 100bhp and big improvements in torque. 170lb/ft torque at 2000rpm as standard and 84bhp. Increased fueling is a free mod as it is a mechanical pump, upping the boost is also free, few turns of a spanner. Celica will be missed though, she was a gem with the LSD, superstruts and lowering springs and cat back SS system that sounded lovely.

Celica as you know is a fine bus but I want to drive loads of cars over a short ish period of time so only intend on keeping them 6 to 9 months ish. Also it's a cheap way of motoring if you buy low and sell for more than low.

2.2 VTEC Prelude, MR2 Turbo, GT4, Nissan 200SX, a T series turbo powered Rover (600 or 800 Vitesse), BMW E36 (320 minimally) are all on the wanted list along with whatever else comes my way. (also have a hankering after a 1.6 Sr Sunny for some reason ??)

I had actually bought a 1996 2.2 non VTEC Accord Coupe before the Celica but it was robbed from the garage dude's house the weekend b4 I was due to collect it, Celica just came along at the right price at the right time, I felt I had to change cars as I had my old car sold (Rover 618, H18 Honda powered) for €1200 more than what I had paid for her after driving her for 6 months.

Good stuff mate on the Celica front, and good to see Rover's getting a good press - in recent years we've had both a 216 SLI (bubble) and a 200 (214 bubble) - excellent little cars - very fast for what they are - you can get a 216 bubble for £800 and it'll do 0-60 in around 9 secs (with torque steer ;)), great cars - regards turbo-diesels, the better specd 220 td bubble looks like a good buy - from what I remember it'll give around 9-10 secs 0-60 and 210 nm torque and 50mpg avg (prob 41-43 around town).

Regards the sports coupes the 4th gen Prelude VTEC was big on my list along side the Celica - I needed something to carry the bike in the back and the Prelude didn't seem to have the space (suprised and very pleased with the Celica's large boot and fold down rears though) - would like to get a Prelude in the future though, happy with either 4th or 5th gen in VTEC form - the 5th gen's also nice (from the rear) - takes a bit of getting used to the front though - with a kit on it'd come up to scratch . Love the 200SX, that's on the list for the future - nice mix of performance, handling and "dour looks", rather understated aswell - like the "rarity/obscurity" of this car (possible next car???).

Regards the E36, the 328 is the sweet spot although the 323 is adequate (I'd personally pass on the 320 - does't match up the Celi GT even)

Good that the 620 TI's getting a mention - again, excellent sleepers with a fierce turn of pace - would have been nice in the mid-late 1990's in one floating by a few Beemers :D

The GT4 needs no press - one the best looking 4 wheel drive cars ever made - a "cute" alternative to an EVO/Scooby - the 4 provides excellent bang for buck and sexy looks - it looks like a supercar, is relatively rare, only costs £5000, gives a comfortable 250bhp in sf. and has 4-wheel drive to boot - a stunning allround package - I'd take a 30bhp drop in power from the other two every day of the week for the GT4 :)
