Corolla Door Lock...help

Hi everyone, i have just registered so a newbie but in need of help.

I have as you may already see, a 1992 k reg 1300 gli estate, but the door lock has stuck which will not let me lock/unlock the car, i have already got a quote from my local toyota dealer and quoted me 23 pounds for a new barrel and key, but will cost me 75 pounds in labour to fit! but he said its quite easy to fit as its an old car with no electric windows.

but i never been near to a lock so im asking if anyone out their can give me some advice on how to to the job?
