Push Start Button

hello there purchased a universal push start button kit says i need to connect it to the ignition barrel anybody that can explain how to get to the ignition barrel would be very much appreciated..

Should be able to get to it by taking the steering cowel off (plastic part of dash under steering wheel) .

Really??!! :o i was thinking about getting one a few occasions but sold my last car before i even did & even considered the other day for the TS! i thought it was a cool mod after seeing a DC5 down the road with it a JDM dealer option or something, my friends Mazda 323f (not a chav or boy racer-a respectble family man infact!)with it his is a geniuine S2000 one he bought somehwere & my dads new Lexus IS250 got one as standard fit too even my mates impressed by it when they went in!!

So what benefit is a start button? I can't see what's wrong with turning the key to start the car?

I guess it makes sense if you have a keyless system, but otherwise what's the point?

Even on keyless systems the disadvantages seem to outweigh the benefits to me, though I've only used one for a day (on a GS450h) and perhaps I needed to give it more time to get used to it.

I dont see any benefit in doing it. Only reason I can see you would want to is for the bling factor...

Still got to use the key anyway, so may as well save the time and hassle.

...it does look good mind you..saw one in a corolla today guy works in toyota had a very nice car. Push start button was placed in the ciggarete lighter. Good effect with the interior as the red button went with the t sport seats. I dont see much point either tho only good for visual purposes.

if you hav to put a key in anyway wots point of havin a buttom as well?? doesnt mak sence cus jus mor hassel!!??
