Steering Pump

Hi,

I have had 3 new steering pumps fitted by an authorised Toyota dealer in the last 18 months (two replaced under warranty). The car was in the garage again just before Christmas as the steering was occasionally stiff at low speeds, however, they couldn't trace the problem. The pump failed again yesterday and I had to drive over 150 miles home (fortunately mostly on motorways) without power assistance.

Is this a known problem with the Avensis Verso? Mine is 2002 reg.

If not then what is the Toyota garage doing wrong when they fit replacements?
