the best for silver in my opinion, tried and tested on many cars is Victoria Concours Wax, £29.95 for 6oz , Try it and i bet you will be over the moon!

maybe put a few layers of super resin polish on it, followed by this wax.

If its silver and metallic paintwork, I'd pick a sealant any day over a wax. Something like Jeffs Werkstatt prime and acrylic or Zaino.

If it was me , i'd use carlack 68/ Klasse AIO followed by a cople of coats of collinite wax, its big you dont wont to be doing it to often.

Well the best wax you can buy comes from Brazil I think and costs abouy £3000 for a pot the size of a Mint sause jar.

However for us normal people! I'd say Autoglym, that's had good results for me.

Would you be glad to hear that Carlack/Klasse/Jeffs are literally the same anyway. Just slight differences between them. Although Collinite is a very hard wearing wax, the sealant would be just as good, if not better IMO and would give a better finish as silver is a hard colour to get to look good. That was my reasoning anyway

I have personally used Autoglym on all my cars, up to now, but recently tried Meguiars after some recommendations elsewhere on TOC forum. I found the latter left no white residue marks on the plastic bits around the car, and came off easier with no powdery dust. So my next polish is going to be Meguiars again. :)

Meguiars for me too - excellent on metallic bodywork and as Cokeman says, no residue marks left around the trim areas. It's pricy but it goes a long way and is worth it in the long run.

Another recommendation for Maguires gold. If you have a black car, its a must! No white residue and a deep lustre

Have tried many over the years inc Atoglym & Mer included

Go with the gold, you won't be sorry

I prefer fairy liquid and a sponge!

I really hope that you are not serious  ................................Fairy liquid (or any washing up liquids) contain damaging salts which can cause severe damage to your paintwork.

It is always better to use a propriatory brand of wash /wax on vehicles.
