Have you got your recirculating air switch set to recirculate cabin air?

You will steam the windows if it is set like that as there is no fresh air being drawn into the car.

I don't think the leather would make much difference :)

The blower MUST be on and set to fresh air (not recirc) and as mentioned above, a quick flick with the A/C switch will clear it in seconds

I find if u switch on the aircon u hav to leave it on, bcos once u switch it off it steams up even quicker. i used to drive a Focus and its got demisters on the front screen, it comes VERY handy. i wonder y other companies havnt added this addition

Having the A/C on for long periods really makes for a dry atmosphere, as soon as you turn it off, the damp air we suffer from in this country soon has it condensing on the screen. I find having a nice clean screen on the inside, with the blower on at least one notch, helps to keep it all clear

I think ford have patented the design so no one can copy it. I'm sure its great for those frosty mornings.

Nope, other brands have it too. Not too difficult to put an element on glass.

Slarti is right. You can only have it if you buy a Jag/Landrover/Ford or An Aston.

Which are all tied in with Ford. :)

Some good advice in the above comments. However, I always thought that Toyotas seemed more prone to misting up than some other cars that I have driven. I've noticed it on Corollas (Executive, T-Sport and T-Sport Compressor), a Carina E and two Avensises (Avensii?).

I try to keep the inside of the glass scrupulously clean and I use the air conditioned demist setting at high temp to avoid chilling the glass. Air-con dries the air as a consequence of its pressure cycle and helps make a speedy de-mist if used appropriately. When the car is warmed throughout the air-con assisted de-mist is seldom needed.

i think the corolla clears quite quick - i cant compare to other newer cars, but is certainly better than my last corolla and i use a carina e for work which seems to take ages on cold nights/morning to clear.
