Hello, i am new to this forum.

I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla Verso D4D 2.0 and i wanted to ask if i have to warm up the turbo before i start driving the car and do i have to cool it down before i turn off the engine?

and maybe someone knows what kind of model is the turbo?

as i know the engine model is 1CD-FTV.

Hi,

The general advice is that idling after town journeys is unnessasary, moderate speeds about one minute (50-60 ish constant), and about 2 minutes for fast or hard driving. My old Yaris D4D had a sticker inside the door saying roughly this.

Warming up i waould generally avoid heavy turdo acc. until at least the blue coolant light has gone out. Most of engine wear occurs when cold.

so you are not suggesting to warm up the engine at idle rpm?

by the way i found out that the turbo is Garrett GT1749V if someone needs this info.

The quicker you can warm the engine the better. This doesnt mean go and thrash it as soon as its started - just drive it steady.

Leaving a car idling to warm up isnt as good for the engine i was told.

Mart. :)
