I've never come across a chipped TS, I know a couple of people with Celica VVTL-i with Apexi FC's and I'm trying to find out weather they cant fit Corolla's!

dont think it is possible to get the t sport chipped , i know a few weeks back a member of this forum took his into a garage and they said they cant do anything with the t sport.

the apexi fc should be possible, can change nearly everything with them.

only thing i want changing on my car is for lift to engage earlier, but if it would be possible and wouldnt create damage to the car surely toyota would have made the lift engage earlier ? have toyota got a reason why it engages so late ? if economy is the only reason i wouldnt mind loosing a few mpg for more lift :)

The cam profile on the power cam will be optimised for 6200-8200 revs.

I'm sure the car could theoretically run on the power cam all the time, but the economy would be worse, and even though lift would be "engaged" at the lower engine speeds it wouldn't be as strong as at high speeds.

I imagine bringing it down to 5000 ish would be OK, but anything lower might not be so good.

The lift is set at 5800 RPM for econmomy reasons, the only other parameter for operation is oil temperature of 60 degree c +

Lower lift is tencnically possible by changing ECU settings but you may have oil temperatures rising which is never good

i got in touch with fensport shortly after getting my car and they said you cant chip - new ecu if you want to do a remap - motec or similar. but very expensive so i gave it a miss. there is a thread on here about them apexi things with good reports on them but i dont know enough to say for sure.

friend of mine has had a seat leon chipped, when he got this done he was advised to be careful as to how much power you try to add cos if u got too far and add to much torque it can burn out the clutch very very quickly

Oh yes. Think PC Fan my son.

Chuck it in the bin. More likely to cause a restriction than any kind of increase.

the best but expensive power upgrade you are going to get for the t sport is a supercharger look on eBay they is a few of them, they just bolt straight on, same ones that are on the compressor :)

same apart from ecu - i seen one, tte supercharger ect but with a greddy ecu - reckoned over 250bhp!

Do you mean the Temperature gauge doesnt work, and is it just plug and play? Blitz do a top radiator hose with Temp gauge so maybe we could use this as coolant temp replacment

Celica's apexi power fc can be fitted to rolla, but then the watertemp. meter won't work. If i remember right...

what sort of power gains are we looking at using one of these? how much do they cost? i presume they have to be mapped - or just plug n play?

It must be remapped.. with custom exhaust and apexi ecu you should get about 180bhp from the wheels and over 200bhp from the engine. It costs about ~500€ +install?

dont suppose you have one fitted? it seems a lot when you factor in install and mapping. is there an increase in torque lower down?

but it doesnt seem a lot when you lower the lift so it engages earlier, im sure this would take a good couple of seconds off the 0 - 60 time :)

I looked into this a while back! The Apexi (from what i read about it) will fit no problem on to the Celica T Sport. Try fitting it to the Corolla and God help ya! The problem is the Celica has two ECUs! I don't know why it just has for some bizzare reason! The Corolla has the one, so the wiring loom from the Apexi kit needs to be moddified. This means it'll take more time and more patience oh and a shed load of cash.

Benefits.... Well not much using standard cams!!! BUT... if you want to throw a load more cash at it try this MWR Piper Cams Its a little expensive but as you can see from the dynos the Power FC comes into a class of its own when you change the cams!!!

Read the page7 from the post "Type R's Too Fast".

There has been lot of discussing from this apexi power fc in Finnish forums.

For example the new type r has got 121kw wheelpower...
