Lpg Yaris?

Are you serious? I know April Fools day isn’t far away but come on! With the expenditure and extra weight due to gas cylinders you would have to probably keep the car 20 years before you broke even!

If you want more miles to the gallon then buy a Yaris diesel or an Aygo

I already get a regular 55 MPG from my Yaris and that has on occasions risen to 68 MPG when I have really been trying to economise.

I would suggest that LPG conversions are better suited to larger and less economical cars than the Yaris.

With LPG AT 40P pl and petrol and diesel at 100/109,i can see why youd want to do it,there have been LPG yaris's before and at 49p pl it great

the problem comes with the cost of a convserion and that the yaris being a small car has no got a deal of room to play with to fit second tank for the LPG Etc

Also consider LPG will rise to the same as Petrol by the end of the year

I found a calculator online and it'd take 4 years for it to pay for itself.

The D4D 1.4 currantly returning 550 miles to a tank of diesel. Yesterday £40 to fill.

Road tax £35 a year.

Insurance F/C £145

Cant get cheaper than that.. or can you?

OK, so it’s paid for itself after 4 years and you would have broken even on the initial investment, but then your car will be 11 years old.

What do you do then? If you sell it at 11 years old you’ve saved no money (and would probably lose money due to the conversion). If you keep it you will still be losing money on depreciation. Who is going to buy a 12, 13, 14 year old Yaris with a gas bottle strapped to its back?

Crazy idea

Think of the eight pounds a day congestion charge you may save too, though!

Also, every city in the UK will adopt a similar charge, just as soon as they are allowed/can afford to set it up!

Yeah but if your car is registered as a Taxi costing about £60/year it can completely cancel out the congestion charge.

Completely legal too.
