Spare Wheel Cover Lock

I was just wondering if anybody had bothered to find a simple, non-destructive way of putting a spare wheel cover lock on a standard 4.3 spare wheel cover?

I know it is extremely easy with a 4.2.

I appreciate there's a locking wheel nut and that it is very difficult to get the spare wheel cover catch open with the rear door shut. To be honest, as I'm quite capable of checking tyre pressures myself, I just wanted a way of stopping any garage messing with the cover. I'd prefer them not to. Picky aren't I?

OK, I admit it, I'm scared :fear: at the thought of feral gangs of T180 owners roaming around looking for spare wheels :D.

If anybody has done it, I'd be interested and very grateful.

Thanks

Weel.....looks like nobody's bothered/bovvered.

I'd shift yer wheel and cover ontae the roof so it looks like a roof box full of whatever ye pit in roof boxes at this time of year (wheelchair users excepted cos i know they are useful fur that). It takes it oot o harms way and apart frae getting wound up in the brushes of automatic car washes that ye shouldnae use, they are of little interest.... :)

No sorry shcm, I haven't really considered it either. I guess if they are serious enough to wreck the cover, cut the nut off and steal it they'll probably nick the whole back door then go in the glove box and get the key!!!

Er, thanks, but for several reasons, for me, no thanks. I could always leave the cover off :D.

You could always try a caravan parts stockist as they will have locks suitable for plastic/glassfibre boxes, in a range of types. Just depends how strong you want it
