Morning all! i am looking at buying a new double cab hilux invinsible and have been told that the tyre sizes have been dropped to 14" or somewhere around that area. this is a bugger because i think not only does bigger looks better but i have reacently purchased some BFG AT's for my landcruiser on 17"'s.

4 things... has anyone seen the youtube.com video (and whats the title of the video) of the swedish test?

does anyone have some landcruiser wheels off an LC4 05 that their wanting to sell?

plus does anyone know whether the tyres off the landcruiser will fit the new hilux?

finally i havent sold or bought yet and i guess my question would be where is the cheapest place to buy a new hilux? ive got my local dealer down

to a good price but i am woundering if there is a better bargain to be had?

They have been put onto 15" wheels whilst the investigation into vehicle stability is concluded. There have not been any incidence of instability reported on 16" wheels, apart from the inconclusive Swedish tests, not all models are affected, I will see if I can find the exact details

This only affects Hilux with standard 16" alloys, models with 16" STEEL WHEELS are unaffected. The 16" ALLOY will be changed to 15" ALLOY until such time as investigations are completed. The allegations were brought about by a Swedish magazine, so not sure if video footage is available. No incidents of vehicle instability have been reported in Europe since the introduction of Hilux on 16" alloys since the models came in (2005) Toyota ALWAYS treat reports of such issues with the utmost of concern and are conducting their own tests. In the meantime, you get 15" alloys and not 16"

Hi Parts-King,

Can you help, I have a '57 Hilux HL3 3.0 auto with the standard 15" alloys, is it possible (or unadvisable) to fit 17" Landcruiser alloys or would it be better to just fit 30mm wheels spacers to the 15"s.

Being a Farrier, I do mostly road work but I a lso carry a constant 500kg deadweight of horseshoes/tools. I had 30mm wheel spacers on my old L200 Warrior, they really helped stability on cornering.

Finally have you seen my post within this forum on ipod/mp3 connector kits, I've had a reply saying the B9000 model of the TNS 600 is fitted to the Landcruiser - yet works with the Hilux, would you have any idea of price for the parts?

Cheers mate..
